What would happen to the opened trades if a power failure should occur? Is Would any dire situation occur other than the fact that no new trades would be opened and opportunities lost before RM/GTS is restarted? I presume that the trades would automatically close when the Take Profit target is reached. If we're running GTS, will the trade close at the ShowTakeProfit value since GTS would not be running and cannot monitor the DelayTakeProfit value? |

It depends. In most cases if you are using the default settings, a TP is placed so the orders will close just fine. New orders obviously won't be opened. If you've changed the settings to use stealth mode then the positions would remain open until you get your power restored. If you are prone to power failures, it's recommended that you get a good battery backup for your computer, or use a VPS (virtual private server) that hosts your robot in a datacenter with a power generator. If you are the techy type, you can get crazy and get an inverter, a car battery (or a few!), and a line conditioner. I've got a small setup like that and it runs 3 HP Proliant G3 servers for 45 minutes in the event of a power failure. |

Thank you for the reply. I guess I have to stick some warning signages such as "KEEP OFF" or "DO NOT TOUCH" in addition to the battery backups and such! My sister-in-law has a tendency to unplug my PC power so that she could plug in the vacuum cleaner. In any case, a VPS would have to figure in my future plans. Thank you again. |

You may want to look into a device like this to prevent your power line from being unplugged: http://www.lectralock.com Simple and polite. |
